ZONKOS, HONEYDUKES, AND OLIVANDER'S, OH MY!

After a full morning and partial afternoon of seeing Hogwarts Castle, having a sweet and creamy butterbeer, and strolling (Ha!) through Hogsmeade, I finally get close enough to concentrate on the amazing store windows! Owl Post's windows are true works of art ... just look at every detail.

Owl Post's windows are packed with fun and unusual items.

We even have a few of the locals hanging in front, getting ready to send off that beautiful snowy, white owl with a urgent message.

"Oh, this is perfect! I could use a few new quills and parchment, and Scrivenshafts is the best place to buy them."

"Potages Cauldrons ... Oh, I really like that cooper one. I hope it's on sale, I've spent so much money already!

After thinking a while about that copper cauldron, I decided to look for a new wand. Olivanders is just down the street. I face one of the longest lines of the day. I couldn't not visit Mr. Olivander!

Peeking through the windows, I see some pretty exciting wands.

After an hour and a half, I finally make it through the door. There are at least twenty people ahead of me.

Mr. Olivander is choosing a wand for an eleven-year-old girl, starting at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in September.

Spending so much time at Olivanders', the sun set and I still haven't finished my shopping. One last stop to Dogweed and Deathclaw for my much needed mandrake. Peering into the side window I see some extremely unusual plants.

As I round the building, I hear the mandrakes howling in the storefront window.

I pass by Dominic Maestro's as I head for the gates of Hogsmeade with many packages in tow.

One last look at the Owl post as I say goodbye to Hogsmeade.

A cheery Harry Potter snowman and Hedwig smile at me as I leave through the gate.

I hope you enjoyed our little shopping spree through Hogsmeade. Tomorrow's post will be an added surprise ... until then have a wonderful day mes amis.

It's so nice to take a break from studying and see these gorgeous pictures from the Wizarding World of HP. I really want to go back soon. It was such a lovely experience. Nostalgia and memories are brimming!

Sorry I haven't been around lately, school is crazy busy and I'm actually even in the middle of a paper due in a few hours right now. I just noticed you had sent an email and I wanted to thank you for reminding me. When things calm down I'll make sure to go back and see all the HP posts. You got some great pictures.

Isn't the Ollivanders experience amazing? It gave me chills.

Glad you stopped by Melissa. I totally understand about school papers, I remember all too well about the sleepless nights I had.

Definitely come by and see the rest of the pic I will leave them up, so you can find them in old posts. I'll be posting WW pics for the next few days.

Rachel,
I am glad that you're enjoying them. I really want to show a the wonderful details in this AMAZING world.

The photos are gorgeous. I would have spent far too much money at those shops. Did the OWL POST sell facsimile owls? I'm sure the white ones would have gone for a prince's ransom!

I'm at work so I have to jet. The game's afoot. The blood game that is. Roland

Colene,

I am. How can you not when you're surrounded by all of this. It's like stepping into the pages of HP along with thousands of your closest friends.lol

Marieke, glad you LOVE them.

Yes Roland, everything is expensive and to claim one of those treasured snowy owls, it will only set you back about forty bucks. They are actually reasonable compared to most of the other treasures.

Joanna,

Consider yourself converted. You have been haunting many of my HP posts and I know deep down you are dying to pick up Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Read it to your two-year-old. Once you finish the first chapter you will run to your room, throw yourself on the bed and veraciously read through the whole book.

Oh this is fantastic, Michael! Scrivenshafts! What better place for a writer with a Potter fetish! Possibly even had some quills in my price range (unlike most of the stores). The Owl Post, too--Oh it looks WONDERFUL!

Michael - as you know, I'm having computer issues. If this comment shows up 5 times, blame it on Zach's computer, which I am forced to use!!

Anyway, what I meant to say was - nice pictures, good trip, blah, blah - but I seriously need to know what the heck butterbeer is! Help!
