WHERE WOULD YOU GO? ...

Today is a super fun Bloghop for HUMP DAY... Since it's EINSTEIN'S BIRTHDAY three bloggers created the National Wormhole Day bloghop. Stephen Tremp, Laura Eno, and Luanne Smith.

Today all you need to do is post in a hundred words where YOU would go if you could create a wormhole and traverse to any place in time, any world, past or future. And it is a SAFE roundtrip. Two fun-filled days to do WHATEVER.

Well, as you can imagine the possibilities are ENDLESS. For me I did manage to narrow it down. I have ALWAYS been fascinated with the impressionist movement in art. Paris, 1880's.... Imagine painting along side Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Edouard Manet, Camille Pissaro, and Alfred Sisley, in Montmartre .... I certainly could. I studied art in college and learned to draw and paint in the same techniques as the masters. This would be the ULTIMATE for me.

Where would you go? I really want to know.

I would also like to thank ALL of you that have dropped by and left such amazing comments on my Exclusive intro of Nicki Elson's Divine Temptation. If you haven't seen this AWESOME cover yet, please scroll down to my previous post. My blog is THE ONLY place where you can see it.

HAVE a wonderful HUMP dau everyone.

I'd want to visit the Victorian era. :) Have a great day!

Nice choice! I have no idea where I would want to go ... maybe the future, for kicks ad giggles. :)

Wow! To be in the presence of the masters. I would go back even further and meet Leonardo Da Vinci and watch him sketch :)

That's a good idea! Plus, I mean who wouldn't want to go to Paris? Of course, the 1880's isn't my favorite fashion period...all those bustles...

I've thought of lots of times and places for this but I think I'd like to going back about fifty years and spend some time with my mom.

I can so see you there, Michael. I'd love to traverse to Ancient Egypt, but mostly as a fly on the wall. I don't think I could handle all the manual labor.

Hey, I've got a thing for Impressionism too...I wonder if it has something to do with the "80s"...

This is an excellent wormhole adventure!

You saw that Woody Allen movie that came out a couple years ago, right? :) I was thinking about this and I think I'd want to go 100 years in the future. I'm just so curious to know what lays in store.

Great choice. I wouldn't go back in the past though because women weren't treated well back then.

I chose to go into the future, but I'd also like to see the past of the Impressionists. I loved visiting the Musee D'orsay in Paris.

(I studied the old masters as well in college and art school. Monet is my all time fave, but I like Camille Pisarro as well.)

Now THAT would be wonderful. Such a vibrant, creative time in Paris. I wonder if I could do the equivalent of a photo bomb in one of Degas's paintings, if I traveled back in time. :P

I'm so overwhelmed by the thought, I don't think I could pick just one.

Paris, what a great choice!

What a cool journey! I love art, and you being a student of art, this would be a dream come true!
Very nice post.

An emotive time to visit, it seems. Make sure you'd take something to sell for money... you don't wanna be visiting in poverty! Be sure to visit a boutique store to dress in style too. :)

Who would you cnvince to paint something for you, tyo have a memory from the past (and of course, implied, a fortune)?

I want to travel back to the Salem Witch Trials and cause some real trouble.

Can I split my days? I don't think I'd last more than one.ha

Gaslight Cthulhu! That's when some of the Lovecraft game's adventures take place.

Now this is a trip I would take. I would also eat the local cuisine and drink a lot of wine. When in Paris do as the Parisians do!

Anonymous said...

I'd do that! I'd love to meet some of these artists in person and maybe even have tea or coffee with them.

Tammy Theriault said...

I think I just boarded with you...you can tell me your impressions of the art! Great idea, Michael!

Anonymous said...

That would be so awesome! :)

I have zero artistic talent, but it'd be a blast to watch them!

Unknown said...

That would be such a colorful extravaganza for you. :)

Tonja Drecker said...

Oh, this is a good one. Especially since you already have interest/talent in that area. I'm sure it'd be a tremendous experience for you.

I've always like the impressionists too. I got to go to Giverney years ago. Was pretty cool.

I'd actually pick France too, but the middle ages. Except it'd have to be visiting a castle or other royalty. Wouldn't want to visit the hard life of some suffering serf.

Great idea to paint with the masters. That would have been such a cool time. Imagine the conversations over red wine in the evenings.

I go with you!!!

Wow, if you're gonna dream, might as well dream BIG! That would be an amazing way to spend a couple days... but you might not want to leave there. (Maybe you'd better get an open-ended return ticket, huh?)

nutschell said...

ooh! painting alongside the masters! That's cool.

That would be fascinating and inspiring to paint with the masters. I think I'd be more interested in studying their temperament versus their technique.

Cheers, and I hope it's a good Thursday.

Sounds like a great time to visit and, who knows, maybe you'd paint a great masterpiece while you were back there? :)

Lexie Rising said...

This would be a wonderful trip! You could bring back some paintings as well, that'd be cool :)

Lynn(e) Schmidt said...

AWw, this is a wonderful answer! It would be amazing to see some masterpiece being made. Do you think the artist knew how great they'd become?

Carol Riggs said...

Wow, I didn't know you were so into Impressionistic art! Cool. No wonder you liked my kitchen curtains. LOL Awesome answer. I think I'd like to hang out with painters too. Rembrandt, John William Waterhouse, NC Wyeth, Maxfield Parrish, Escher, maybe even Norman Rockwell! Fun!

I think we have some of the same spirit. I would love to visit 1880's Paris or as a writer, Paris in the 20's. Such culture and just everything.

Samantha May said...

Sounds heavenly! I've studied French for six years now, so anything France related is good by me :)

EvalinaMaria said...

Sounds like an inspiring journey...

I like this idea. I always ask people what they would expect to find at the other end of a wormhole.
The answer is of course a Tesco superstore! ;O)

I'd go to the restaurant at the end of the Universe and have a slap up meal.

Great post.

I would love to go there too! I mean, Paris in the 1880's..it would be outstanding to watch the masters at work. Also, I think it would be cool to go back to the early 1900's and visit my grandmother as a little girl, see what kind of a kid she was...then a little farther ahead in the same century to observe the same with my mother...would be a great way to answer some family mysterys/issues!
