A POSITIVE NOTE ....

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL BE POSITIVE DAY, EVERYONE!

That's right today is a very special day. My blogger pals, Sharon Mayhew and Robyn Campbell are hosting this wonderful event!

How often we fret about life's stressful moments. Work, family, failing health, losing our loved ones, jobs, and friends. But even though we experience many of this traumas on a daily basis, there is so much beauty in this world that many of us overlook.

I spend much of my time as an observer and many of my most treasured memories are as simple as watching a father playing with his son on the beach. The care, the PATIENCE, and the beaming of his face as he watches his little one building a castle in the sand.

An elderly couple. Hand-in-hand sharing a private moment, and the oh-so-sublte loving smile that melts the wrinkles away, revealing for a brief moment, a young couple in love.

Or, shiny green leaves popping through a frigid, muddy earth. The rebirth of nature is by far one of the most inspiring, miraculous, and magical wonders to experience.

What about ducklings following their mother, skirting across a blue-green pond. The way they glide in unison is mesmerizing. Nature is the ultimate high. THE ULTIMATE INSPIRATION.

Take the time to take a breath and watch. Become one with your surroundings and you'll find yourself grinning ear-to-ear.

My past few months in Florida had so many positive moments. Now that spring in amongst all of us now, go out and enjoy it!

ENJOY this wonderful celebration of LIFE!

Imagine ... Flowers growing on a beach! BUT, you don't have to imagine ...

As my wife always says, it's the little things in life that matter.

So true, Michael. We forget all the beauty and the simple things in the stress and too many duties of everyday life. We do need to slow down and appreciate the little joyful things in life.

Totally agree, Michael. We forget so many of the little things that are beautiful in this world, and that's a shame. Glad to see someone who appreciates them!!

I tend to focus on the little things. But when your baby is premature, those little moments are sometimes all you have.

Those are great examples of little slices of happiness we can easily overlook. Yesterday I noticed that the wild irises are starting to come up. They are sooo beautiful - and purple :)

I couldn't agree more. The smallest moments are usually the biggest memories. And your examples truly warmed the heart. Great job!

You are easily one of the most positive people I know, Michael! And I love how you view life. And you have *such* a gift of words for expressing it. It's a beautiful thing. :-)

And I'm looking forward to more Noir stuff!!!!!

Great post. Those are the things in life that are most important. It's hard to remember sometimes because we get caught up in distractions. It's always good to be reminded and think positive!

Hi Michael .. love your take on a Positive Note .. and yes, sitting peacefully watching others relax and be themselves ... great idea .. and it does make the heart melt doesn't it.

I do hope Spring will spring .. someone said we were going back into freezing nights .. it's depressing and I'm cold now!

I'm positive though .. cheers Hilary

The great thing about you, Michael, is that every day is Be Positive Day for you! You're truly inspiring to me all the time.
I absolutely love Sharon's and Robyn's idea. We all need more positivity in our lives.
BTW...even your positive descriptions are poetic.

I LOVE to see older couples holding hands and smiling at each other. And thanks for sharing a 'dad' moment. There are a lot of great ones out there, but generally, they get a bad rap.

A positive moment: children listening wide-eyed to a story told by a gifted speaker. Magic.

Have a happy day. Alex's comment had my mind going in the wrong direction.
If you see what I mean.

There is indeed so many wonderful things that we have that we should appreciate. It's important to see the glass as half full.

Abso-doggone-lutely! And what's even more wonderful is that a positive attitude can be very contagious. The thing is, we shouldn't mope around waiting for someone to "give" it to us; we should try to be carriers.

Lovely, just lovely -- I enjoy a story with pictures. Especially a beautiful beach with purple flowers.

Great sentiment! Celebrating life!

Que bonita!! my sisters are in orlando, they wish they were here. i'm in oak harbor, wa!! where the forest trees meet the pacific ocean. and yes, i think a tank top is "fitting" but you'd have to actually tuck it in...for some reason that was the look. and ... neon colored of course!! roll up the bottoms of your jeans with the cinch roll!! pull them to the right of the bottom hem, fold over to leg, then roll up giving that tight rolled bottom 80's to 90's look. then top off with penny loafers...waaaa-laaa

Very true. Easy to keep your head down and never notice all the great things happening around us.
