Michael, you have an amazing talent, really. I love the cover art and how well you are able to portray the faces. However, my favorite of them has to be the willow tree. Trees are my favorite types of drawings. There were a lot of weeping willow trees where I grew up. They were spooky for me.

Hello Michael. Thank you for the very sweet comments on my blog! I'm very flattered! Your illustrations have a delightful sense of whimsy. I think these are done in pencil? You might want to try some in pen and ink - I think it would lend itself to your style.

How wonderful to combine your talents like this. Just looking at the pictures I can feel how you must feel—enveloped in your story with all its powerful images when you write. So cool.

I was just looking at your illustrations again and was curious about the one titled, NIna's House. What was the inspiration for that, if you don't mind my asking? It actually reminds me of a place in Missouri.

Great illustrations! How wonderful to have a talent for writing AND illustrating!!
I LOVE the weeping willow tree. That's my favorite tree. I have one that I planted a few years ago and it's huge now. I grew up with one in my front yard and I had such an attachment to it that I'm just grateful that I could grow my own...
Nice work!
