ALL HALLOWS EVE ... HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE! ...

What fun to have Halloween fall on HUMP Wednesday! Something scary, ghoulish, spooky, and hair raising to get us through the week.

Many of us have kids, so all you parents are probably "FREAKING!" Having to make costumes, gather the kids, organize neighborhood activities, etc ... not to mention all the SUGAR highs.

Families living in the suburbs really get to have ALL the fun. City dwellers have too many distractions and parents here stick to school activities for their Halloween fun. I don't get to see all the kidlits dressed in an array of everything from witches to the latest new zombie characters.

Because of the catastrophic "Sandy," high winds and COLD temps will definitely wreck havoc on the city kids. Prayers go out to ALL on the eastern seaboard. SO many of my blogger friends live on the coast and I hope they survived this horrific storm. Talk about a Halloween horror story.

I hope all of you are well and have something fun planned for today ... as for me, I will be still working on getting my writing space put together. I still have to paint the French door, and closet door. Hang a few pics and organize my fantabulous new closet... Then I need to tackle the living room. I hope to have pics posted sometime next week. Let's hope my friendly, mischievous ghost doesn't play any "tricks" on me today... lol.

So what do you have planned for today? AND ... what's your favorite Halloween treat. Which one do you STEAL out of your kid's bag? AND ... REMEMBER THE CALORIES ... LOL.

Happy Halloween to you!! I did finally cave in and buy some candy. Bought peanut butter cups and Almond Joys just in case we have leftovers (has to be something I like!). Looking forward to seeing your photos! Good luck with the door paintings. :)

can't wait to see the pics :)

Halloween is best in the suburbs; I used to go up and down my street and all the developments and come home with a massive bag of candy. It was awesome!

Happy Halloween, Michael! I love seeing the little kids all dressed up and so excited. Some big kids are pretty funny, too!

Redecorating :-) I wish I could redo my office space. Enjoy, Michael. I'm sure it will look beautiful.
We're in a rural area up in the mountains, so we don't get any Halloween traffic either. We have to go into town for trick-or-treating.
BTW...I love that you call it Hallow's Eve. My older son calls it that, too.

You need to get down to the South Side, yo! We have lots of trick or treaters here. :) I'm taking my nephews out tonight and we are going to have a blast. Since candy is fun-sized the calories are not rough if you take one piece. LOL Not that I indulge, candy really doesn't hold the same allure as it once did. But I'm not averse to a piece of Kit Kat. LOL

Happy Halloween, my friend! Enjoy the day. :)

I practically inhale the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups...YUM.

We bought candy like two weeks ago. My mom should have KNOWN that it was not going to last. Alas, here we are at Kroger the day of Halloween getting candy. It's madness O_O

I'm intrigued about this ghost... how can you mention him and not give us the details??? ;-)

Annnnnd... It's so strange to me that it's just a normal Halloween for us when so many people are suffering/struggling across the country... breaks my heart...

And I try to buy candy that I know I won't eat if there are leftovers! But in my neighborhood? Ohhhh man... I hope I have *enough* candy...

Excited about your projects, Michael!

Looking forward to all the pictures.

So far I've been very good about avoiding candy, but I might join the trick-or-treaters and have a piece of two tonight.

Half my family is in NYC so it's putting a little damper on tonight, from my perspective, but the kids are ready and excited to go out.

Happy Halloweed. I will be lugging my kids around today and helping them eat their treats. I'll regret it tomorrow. =)

I can hardly wait to see your writing space! Mine is nearly done and ready for me to dive into. My favorite Halloween treat is Tootsie rolls.

Happy Halloween! Nothing planned other than to hand out candy. My step-son's b-day is today and we're making him his birthday dinner with lots of Halloween candy for us too! Sorry, Michael, no healthy eating for tonight! lol.

I can't wait to see what your new writing space looks like. I hope NYers were able to trick or treat. We had a good bit come by here tonight. Lots of pirates. What's with that???
Anyway, happy Halloween!

I gave pumpkins full of candy to the three apartments here with children. Fun to see them in costumes to go to safe activities. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Happy Halloween.

We prepared for trick or treaters, watched the bonfire in front of our house, watched a scary movie on PPV and then a friend and I drove around our local area to check out some of the other bonfires.

Last year I only got about 10 trick or treaters, so this year I didn't buy candy and left my porch light off. I think I live in the neighborhood the kids leave to go hunting in better neighborhoods. I disillusioned with Halloween anyway.

Many of my co-workers dressed up today; they had costumes they created themselves, and didn't just buy a pre-made mask. It was fun. I don't dress up or anything; not a fan of much capitalist spending. Some of the costumes were awesome though.

We used to have a lot of trick-or-treaters, but in recent years, we've had none. Good, because we don't need all that leftover candy.

Dear Michael,
Happy Halloween! Good luck with your redecorating work.

We don't celebrate Halloween in Sweden, although the toy stores and other merchants do their best to try to introduce it as a new holiday.

I would love to have some candy corn right now. Just a little.

Hope Sandy is not hitting you in the Chicago area.

Take care.

P.S.

Candy corn is not available in Sweden.

Can't wait to see the pictures! Halloween has not really caught on over here, didn't have any kids knoking on our door but we had a big spooky storm.

Happy Halloween Michael.Oh,it's gone. We don't really have it in Australia, but some people are trying to get it going.
Sandy brought a real treat didn't she?We see the pics on tv of the queues for petrol etc. Sad.

Looking forward to seeing your beautiful rooms!!

Zach was a scary zombie and Jacob was a cute little vampire. Jacob had a trick-or-trunk at the karate studio he takes lessons at (he went as "The Karate Kid" for that one) and then we trick-or-treated in our small town and finished up with a pizza party at our church. We were tired by 8:00! I haven't looted the candy bags yet, but I did eat my fair share of the candy-corn-pumpkins at school this past week! And christy's admitted to a small mini-snickers addiction. ;)
