PRAYERS FOR THE VICTIMS OF DORIAN...

Hi all,

Welcome to another post of the IWSG. Today I am very concerned about all the victims in the Bahamas from the horrific Dorian. Please send out prayers to all those poor people who have been devasted by Dorian. Sadly, this is still not over, but at least Dorian is weakening and with God's help it will disperse and not do too much damage to the US.

Natural disasters, like Dorian, plague us all, but these devasting storms show us how precious our lives are and we need to step back and reflect. With all the civil unrest in the US and around the world, it is times like these that make me think we ALL need to get along, stick together, and be kinder to one another.

This month I have no anxieties with my writing because I am concentrating on packing up my condo in Chicago. Yes, I am finally moving out of Chicago. It's time. Today I am traveling to the charming town of Galena, IL to look for a country house. Just three hours west of Chicago and on the Mississippi is Galena. A storybook village which I hope will motivate to finish up my writing projects once I settle in. As we ALL know, our surrounding influence our writing. If a writer is not comfortable in his/her writing space, they will be tons of anxieties about writing. So, for this month's post, I want to suggest to all fo you that you make your writing spaces cozy and comfortable. We spend SO MUCH time in our writing spaces, they NEED to be comfortable.

May everyone be safe on the east coast of the US. Alex, I hope you and your family will take extra care and stay safe through this storm. I know the Carolinas will be hit by the storm, so our prayers go out to you all.

Thank you, to the whole IWSG team to give us ALL the opportunity to learn from each other and to vent our insecurities. If you would like to join our group, please drop by Alex's site to sign up...

Take care, everyone!

A country house sounds perfect.
Fortunately the storm is weakening. Our area was hit so hard with flooding last year - we don't need it again.

Moving to a country home? That sounds so romantic. I hope it inspires you on all creative levels.

You're right about being kinder. Even when we don't agree, we can still be nice to each other.

A place in the country would be just wonderful. Although that's kinda where I live now. LOL

Dorian is supposed to be here tomorrow. Our AF base already sent the planes elsewhere and will shut down tomorrow afternoon in preparation.

Hi Michael - oh how lovely ... a country house would be wonderful ... and on the banks of the mighty Mississippi would be so interesting - good luck with the search. I too hope Dorian won't do any more damage than it has already done - the Bahamas look to be appallingly badly damaged. All the best - cheers Hilary

I've definitely been praying for everyone effected by Dorian.

It's good to hear you're making a positive change in your life. Gotta love a storybook village :)

The world seems to be plagued by natural disasters lately. Its a shame there are so many other man made disasters to supplement that awefulness.

Leaving Chicago? Wow, that must have been a big, heart rending decision. But the country home sounds charming.

Good luck.

Hi Michael.
"...we ALL need to get along, stick together, and be kinder to one another." THIS. I agree.
A country house in a storybook village sounds like the ideal spot. Hope you settle in soon and get to finish your writing project. XX

Hi Michael :)

Thanks for stopping by and it's always great to hear from you - and what's going on in your world, too!

I'm *so* excited for you, hearing that you're moving from Chicago into your dream home. Nothing wrong with Chicago, having lived there myself, but it's soooooooooo cold in the winter!!

Sending you the very best wishes for the upcoming move, I know you'll hit some bumps in the road, but you've been there and done that, so I look forward to one day reading a post on how you've renovated your new home and can relax :)

PS: Here's to your finishing those last 5 chapters of the memoir and getting 'er done!

I thought I commented on this post- but I don't see it, so have to assume I read the post and meant to come back (which I am doing now). :) I love the advice to be cozy in our writing space. It is hard to write if we aren't comfortable and if there are too many distractions. I am working on this. :)

Hope the move is smooth! :)
