HAVE YOU ....

Today I decided to dedicate this overcast day to Author Appreciation Day... or the AAP.

Have you beat you head against you computer in frustration?

Have you stressed to the point of inducing a catatonic state?

Have you FREAKED OUT over the smallest of situations?

Have you endlessly snapped at your spouse, significant other, children, pouch, or kitty?

Have you flung you laptop across the room? Let's hope not. But I know you want to.

Have you eaten every piece of chocolate in the house, gallons of ice cream, whole pies, or whole pizza's?

Have you screamed at the top of your lungs, pulling tufts of hair out.

Have you worked endless hours and achieved only 200 words?

Have you stayed awake until wee hours of the morning playing out different scenes in your mind?

Have you wrote one sentence over again dozens of times?

If you answered yes to ANY or ALL of these questions than you, my friend, must be a writer. What I'd like you to do is just for today be super kind to yourself. Treat yourself to a new toy. Take yourself out to lunch or dinner. Buy a special bottle of wine and share it with you honey. Or just stay in your P.J's, lay around the house, and stuff yourself with anything your little heart desires. Not out of frustration but as a well deserved TREAT!

On this gloomy hump Wednesday be kind to yourself. Let me know what you plan to do for yourself as a fun treat.

I think I will go to the movies. I haven't been in ages and it's truly a luxury for me....

Oh yes, all of the above. I haven't treated myself in a long time. That sounds like an excellent idea. Thank you! I shall have to think of something. Enjoy your movie!

Ha Ha! Yes to all of the above...however MrB makes delish Martinis and we're now enjoying one with a little cube of mature Cheddar.

Enjoy your trip to the cinema!

NOW you are talking!!!!

I love this idea. And if Mrs. Pseudonym says anything about me being in bed at 2 this afternoon, watching the best that netflix has to offer, I'll just tell her that you said it was okay. Mandatory, even.
Smiles. Have a good recreation day!!

Yes! Yes! and Yes! To all of them! That post was totally full of awesome. I can soooo relate, but yet you made me feel so calm, like it's all okay.

I think I'm going to go to the movies today too. It's something I've been thinking about doing for a long time and just haven't gotten around to doing it.

You must have been reading my mind in your dreams, because while you were asleep I was baking chocolate chip cookies and I have already eaten the whole bunch!

I must be a weird writer then, because only that last one is true. All right, maybe a little stressing as well.

Uh-huh. Especially the chocolate one.

Have fun at the movies, Michael! I heard Super 8 really rocks.

Do you have a spy camera on me or what??? :) Sadly, I identified with too many things on that list. I'm way overdue for a spa day, I think... Or a movie sounds good! I'd really love to go see Super 8.

Of course, a dose of SYTYCD will tide me over tonight. I know you'll be watching, too. Thanks, Michael! Enjoy!

Yeah to many of the above.

Go to the movies! Great! Just saw Water for Elephants last week. Pretty good. Great way to relax awhile.

Dave and I took last night off - sent the kids to their aunt's, went out to dinner with friends, and got home way too late. Today I'm catching up on blogs and tomorrow I'm hopefully not working for hours to accomplish 200 words. ;)

I answered yes to 6 of them (won't tell you which). And I did TREAT myself---any my mum, and my daughter today. We went to see the threesixty Peter Pan show in a giant tent! It was great!!! (Out on Chicago Avenue near Goose Island). And that's how I saw the Dementors hanging low among the Chicago skyscrapers today and I laughed when I thought of your blog post.

So what movie did you see?

To be human is to be frazzeled. To be a writer is to be extra frazzeled! Read about poor Dante on my post of today! Roland

Lovin' the post! Yes to your list...especially the eating part :-)
I read your post at the tail end of the day, so (since I have to take care of my two kiddos), I think we will try a picnic in the park tomorrow.

Hi! Wow, how about carrying your laptop on your hip like a baby? :)

You know, going to the movies all by my onesie sounds FABULOUS! If only my little town had super late showings. *sigh*

Hee Hee! At least no one admitted to them all at once!

I can highly recommend Kung Fu Panda II and Pirates :)

I've done most of those! I don't eat chocolate or dairy products, so a whole bag of chips takes its place.

Hi Michael,
what movie did you see? About a week or so ago we went to Pirates in 3-D. Wow! Now that was a treat. So amazing. I had visions of stupid 3-D movies in my head before I went and now they are forever quelled.

Michael- What a nice thought. I gave myself a treat yesterday and just me and a friend went out to the pond to relax- suntan- and read. It was such a good day and I feel better today.

:) I hope you enjoyed your time at the movies!

My biggest 'challenge' as a writer right now seems to be focus. It's almost like I've got some sort of creative ADD...flitting and flapping to this project and that. Maybe it's a form of Lunacy...it IS a full moon ;-)

If I show this to work, do you think they'll let me have today off as a PJ day?

Loved this post!

Oh, chocolate, how I love thee, although you are very bad for my thighs.

I think I will treat myself this weekend. Something that doesn't involve food. Thanks, Michael!

I read your post yesterday and took your advice - it's been 24 hours since I looked at my novel... But I have to spend all weekend editing. It goes so slowly but I really really want to finish so I can share this book with the world!
