INSECURITES OF ANOTHER KIND....

Hi All,

Surprisingly, it is the first Wednesday in APRIL... Can you believe a third of the year is gone already? What happened?

LIFE...

I've been doing a lot of soul searching and praying lately. A dear friend of ours in the blogging community has entered hospice care. Melissa Bradley, a funny, loving, and very opinionated woman is battling for her life. Cancer. Such a horrific disease that has touched us all.

So this is why my insecurities this month are more focused on LIFE than on worrying about writing. Although writing is in our soul, we still must deal with all of LIFE'S pains as well as its beauty.

So today, I would just like to leave you with two requests. First, PLEASE keep Melissa in your prayers and send your love to her on FACEBOOK. I know she posted yesterday, so she is on line from time to time.

And second, TELL and SHOW the people you love that you appreciate them and that they are an important part of YOUR LIFE... They need to know. Many times we ignore our loved ones for writing that next scene, or editing your first, second, or fiftieth draft. Let them know...

I'd also like to thank Alex, the creator of our monthly hop, for posting about Melissa at his blog today. WE ALL APPRECIATE what you do for us Alex... Thank you!

Here is the link to the other members of our group. Perhaps you can give some advice, cheer someone up, or even feel better KNOWING you are not alone in your insecurities about LIFE...

HUGS to you ALL!

Continued prayers for Melissa.
When it comes down to it, people are the most important in life. They are who enrich our lives the most.

What you say is so true, Michael. I've gone through a lot of this soul searching since my husband died 3 years ago. It is so important to appreciate and be kind to those we love. Our time together could be taken suddenly at any time.

I've been unplugged from the net for a while, taking the time to care for my mother, but will definitely send Melissa some love and prayers. Hugs to you too, Michael. I know how bad it hurts to watch someone you love do battle with this horrid disease. It's heart wrenching.

Very well said, Michael. Life is precious and the time to tell people we love them is now.

I'm so sorry to hear that about Melissa. Just sent up a prayer for her and will continue to do so. Thanks for keeping us posted.

Yeah, writing's taken a back seat in my life lately, too. I have a project I keep saying I'll jump into, and yet...

Count me in for getting together some time during the last week of Taurus!

I'm still so heartbroken over Melissa. I have always thought she was such a fun and crazy (in the best way!) lady. I am sending all the positive thoughts and prayers I can her way and will have hope that she can still beat this.
Take care of yourself, Michael. I can imagine how hard this is for you. :(

Stories like Melissa's are so painstakingly sad. No, not just sad - horrific and unnecessary. I hate cancer. Like the rest of humanity. I met cancer when I was just a kid. It started killing off my family, one by one by one. Granted I had a huge extended family - all four of my grandparents seemed to have a bazillion siblings a piece. Anyway, I learned at a young age that cancer does not discriminate. It's not fair or kind, but heartless. I can't believe after all this time this criminal still affects so many lives. :( Makes me mad. Sorry. Rant over.

Michael, telling and showing those people in your lives how much you care is such an important message to share. <3 Take care. Thinking of you...

People definitely need to know they are loved, but we don't think about this until the trauma occurs. I learned firsthand when hubs had his cardiac arrest, from which he is still recovering having lost a lot of mobility. For six months while he was hospitalized I had to come to grips with how close I came to losing him. We will all put our energies into helping Melissa know that many are behind her. Through prayer, healing energies and words. It helps to know that many people care. You're a good buddy to have, Michael. Life is so fragile.

When I heard the news I did exactly what you advise. I'm so fortunate in my family and friends. Prayers to Melissa.

Cancer is such a pernicious evil. I don't know Melissa but I wish her well. You are so right, we don't tell our loved ones that we love and appreciate them enough

You do have to make the most of life and the relationships you have with people. We aren't going to be here forever. I am so sorry about your friends health. It is hard to accept such bad news.

A very touching, kind post, Michael. I've kept in touch with Melissa on facebook and cheered her on. It was with great sadness that I read her post the other day. She is one heck of a fighter, and I admire her for every round she's won. I'll continue to keep her in my thoughts.

What a touching post and the reminder to tell those we love and care about how important they are is one that we seem to need to hear regularly. Thanks for reminding us.

Yes, you're so right. This is a wonderful post. I will honor your request and tell and show the people in my life how important they are to me. Often, I forget or take them for granted. Thanks for the reminder.
