Happy Friday everyone.
On the verge of one of the biggest weekends we have all summer, we can all expect great outdoor fun, BBQ's and spending quality time with friends and family.
For the past few days I have been playing traffic cop in my condo. Furniture coming in other pieces going out, cleaning, re-accessorizing the surfaces to create my perfect living and working space. I'm happy to say that everything is going extremely well. Today the last of the larger pieces will be picked up by my local charity and then I will be able to get back to work!
After very long day I sat on my super gorgeous leather sofa and turned on my one television obsession. So You Think You Can Dance is one of few shows I watch because I admire the quality of the dance performances. It's AMAZING to see what the human body is capable of doing.
Yesterday The Stories for Sendai, an anthology of short stories featuring the human spirit, launched. There are blog tours all week. Check it out and order your copy. I certainly did.
Last night before my eyes I witnessed with millions of other viewers the human spirit soaring when I flipped on SYTYCD. The Axis Dance Company was announced and two dancers entered onto the stage one lovely young woman and her partner a handsome young man in a WHEELCHAIR. My jaw dropped.
I have seen incredible dancing on stage, in movies, and on dance programs, but the way they two moved left me speechless. Although his legs couldn't move every other part of his body could. His strong upper body lifted his partner in ways I could never describe. His wheelchair moved as his legs would have. It was beyond awesome. His partner wove her body around her partner and his chair as if they were one. I will NEVER forget it and neither would anyone who had witnessed it.
This man's courage and passion for dance overpowered his handicapped. He would dance no matter what. Such a strong spirit embodies the soul.
We as writers know this. We embody the same passion in our soul. So remember dear friends when we have an off day, when our prose isn't perfect, when we have writer's block or not enough time to indulge in our passion, remember this determined you dancer who would not let even useless legs stop him from dancing.
If you have a chance to watch this episode you can catch it on line at the SYTYCD website here. I just went to the website.... You'll want to look for the airing date of June 30th.... unfortunately they haven't posted the show yet, they are a bit behind so check back in a day or so.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Fourth of July weekend!

I'm going to have to check out the SYTYCD - we don't have that here but there's similar shows like Dancing on Ice and Popstar to Operastar.

"Impossible" just gives birth to legends when the human spirit refuses to surrender. It was truly awe-inspiring to watch this dance performance. Hearts that won't quit. Have a great weekend. I, of course, am working! Blood is needed even on holidays. Roland
I haven't watched that show much but I'll check out that link, I love the passion that goes into those shows. Have a great weekend. Your healthy food was great too :)
...impossible is limiting one's determination to succeed, regardless of setbacks. Thanks Michael for bringing this young man's dance to our attention.
Have a great weekend,

Oh! That dance was STUNNING. I was so moved by it.
what a wonderful, encouraging story of the dancer. Wow. It comes as a good time for me too.
It's always wonderful see people overcoming their obstacles to accomplish something great. We all have barriers to break, some harder than others, but if we have the right mind about it, we can bulldoze through them. Thanks for this reminder, it was something I needed to hear today. Happy Fourth of July, Michael *hugs*! :D
