FANTASTIC, FUN, FRIDAY FEATURE ... THE LETTER F!

Happy Friday everyone.

Day five of the challenge and I am happy to be able to keep up. It isn't easy these days with SO many distractions.

Yesterday I had left a question for all of you. What was my "E" word. There were several to chose from, but to my surprise no one guessed it. I did throw in a curve ball to knock you off track. It worked.

Several thought the word was Eclipse: the obvious choice. But why would I make it easy for you? No, my "E" was ENTRANCE.

Today's post, is a soft riddle, the build up of the featured creature. See if you can guess before its revealed.

I hope you enjoy it.

See you all tomorrow. I am going away for the weekend, and I haven't written my G post yet. Please forgive me if I don't get it up, I might not have internet access, so if not, I will post G and H on Monday.

Have a great weekend everyone and HAPPY EASTER!

Prancing hooves skate along the melted snow as streams of golden light dapples through the budding trees.
A twig snaps. The creature bolts into the woods and disappears behind an ancient oak tree.
A trembling head turns toward the intruder who broke the silence. Aqua blue eyes lock onto the hers. Gingerly, she takes a step onto the path, brushing up against a blooming bush.
The aroma of sweet perfume overpowers her senses. In one swift movement a tiny blossom disappears.
A child’s laughter breaks the spell and once more she bolts into hiding.
“Don’t go!” the child calls out. “Please. I won’t hurt you.”
Frozen as if carved in ice, the creature stood. One tiny step at a time, the child approaches, beaming at her.
A delicate hand reaches out to stroke her soft neck. “Don’t be afraid, I’m a friend.”
Humans have never been kind to her, always hunting her with guns. Should she trust this one?
Although small, the child is still a human.
Unlocking her stance, she nuzzles into the child’s hand. A calming sensation seeped into her body.
“There. That’s better. You can trust me.” The child placed a hand on each side of her face, raised her head, and looked into her large doe eyes.
A new friendship has formed.

I'm with Liz. A fawn? But you said...never have been kind to her. Makes her sound older. Hmmm....

I would guess fawn (since it begins with F).

My guess was a faun or a fawn but then I read the last line and I knew the second one was right! Great post Michael.
