WATCHING WILLOW WATTS ... THE ULTIMATE LAUNCHING PARTY!

Now THAT's a book cover. In honor of our friend and fellow author Talli Roland, I am writing only in PINK today.

Haven't you ever dreamed of being anyone else? WELL, TODAY is the day to make that dream come true!

During this AMAZING launch party blogfest you could be ANYONE you want to be.

In Talli's own words "If I could be anyone, I'd be ..." Fill in the blank. "Come dressed as that one person you've always admired, longed to impersonate, or just plain envied. Now is your chance to make your superhero, film-star, or Rock God fantasies come true (okay, maybe not all your fantasies...)."

So there you have it. Post a pic of the person you wish to be and tell us why.

There is one person, an amazing author, I wish I could be, and not for the reasons you think.

This author is ... JK ROWLING. The reason why I chose her is NOT for all the fame and billions of dollars she has earned but because SHE has influenced millions of readers and several generations of children to read. Her writing brought me back to reading and if it wasn't for her influence I never would have written my first novel... which happens to have Willow in the title too! But today is Talli's day.

So here is a picture of MY favorite author and an amazing woman JK Rowling. Ah, if I could change the world like she did .... Nice dream, eh?

Good luck Talli with your fantastically whimsical new book. It will be ALL THE RAGE! Be sure to drop by for my review on Friday.

Don't forget to sign up for my WHAT I DID ON MY SUMMER VACATION BLOGFEST... It should be a hoot.

Great choice Michael! I could easily see you changing the world, look at what you have already done on blogger. You are an inspiration.

She seems to be the top pick which is only natural. She's an amazing woman and writer!

Excellent choice! If only...ah, but we might change the world like she did. *wink*

Wish I could join the blogfest, Michael. (I'm sick and having tests.) Could use a prayer though. And I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your new pic. :-)

Hi Michael. Like your new profile pic. You look like someone who's enjoyed their summer vacation. Well, I've entered your blogfest but the seasons are a bit different so you've forced me to think outside the square as usual...

I admire JK Rowling for her self belief. She spent 5 years thinking about Harry Potter and writing the story in her head before she put pen to paper. No wonder she created such a rich world...then she had to wait for a publisher to believe in her. Aren't millions of people so glad she was tenacious!

I completely agree picking her because the changed the world and influenced people to read instead of the fame and fortune. That's what's cool about Talli's book too. :)

Such a great reason to choose her! She gives us all inspiration that it is, in fact, possible, and she seems like a really down to earth person as well. Nice choice :)

Good choice for excellent reasons.
I've led Potter discussions for age groups from seven to 90. I can't tell you how many of all ages said they "really hadn't read much before her books." Now they belong to book groups. It's wonderful!

(So glad your site isn't showing the malware popup)

Sweet Brother, you are so predictable and I love you all the same. I do agree, great writers are an important inspiration for both the readers and other writers :) I was so not surprised by your choice and I even won some money....LOL!

JK is awesome. And I wouldn't sneeze at the money either.

That's a great choice, and for all the right reasons. :)

WOO HOO!! Congrats to Talli!! And Michael - so nice of you to support a friend this way!

JK Rowling was a HUGE influence on me, too. Reading Harry Potter made me want to really focus on my own writing ~ really spurred me in the right direction to finally take my dream seriously.

And I'm totally IN for the blogfest. :)

Ha! You and I are twins today!!! And largely for the same reason, though I listed several (but I DIDN'T list the billions--like you). I just think she's maybe the most amazing person I can think of--at least in the domains on which I'd like my OWN life to be amazing.

I need to keep track of all the JK's today - I think that's four so far.

She has done what all author's desire to do! What a woman!

Great choice. She has gotten hundreds of thousands of kids to read - and who would have thought that children would stand in line for hours just to get their hands on a book!

Welcome to the Rule Of Three blogfest, and I hope you are looking forward to it as much as I am!

I almost, ALMOST picked J. K. Rowling! For the same reasons as you, and for being able to have such an incredible and limitless imagination!

LTM said...

JKR seems to be at the top of everyone's list, and for good reason.

Also, I agree w/you. That is the MOST fun book cover yet~ :D <3

J.K. is amazing! I wouldn't want her fame either (it must be difficult, especially for the family) but I sure wouldn't mind inspiring and influencing millions of people worldwide with my novels. I wouldn't say no to the billions of dollars either, LoL! :)

One of my favorite quotes is: “The best fame is a writer's fame. It's enough to get a table at a good restaurant, but not enough to get you interrupted when you eat.” ~Fran Lebowitz

That is so not true for Ms. Rowling, haha!

I chose MULAN for this! She dresses as a man to save her fragile father and also ends up saving her battalion and her whole freaking country! I wish I had such spunk and kickass courage!

My inspirations are a lot less recent: the Anne of Green Gables and Pippi books . . . I just loved those audacious female characters.

Great choice, Michael! Can't believe I missed commenting on this on the day.
