Mystery and intrigue sums up Trip Coulter.
Who’s Trip Coulter you ask?
Ah…
Now there’s a story…
What else…
Sign up as a black ops…Spy work is so much cooler.
Enter Olivia…
Heads turn as her hips sway like palm fronds in a delicate breeze. The six inch stilettos click out a latin beat heading toward the shadowed corner table.
Trip’s eyes follow and brighten as she melts into the vacant seat.
“What a day. Traffic all over town and idiots on the road.” She glances the table. “Didn’t you order me a drink? You could’ve at least done that.”
“I didn’t know when you’d get here.”
“I told you by 7 o’clock. Don’t you listen.”
“Yes. And it’s half past…you’re late.”
She roles her eyes. “Whatever.”
Trip keeps his cool. After dinner he heads home…alone.
The next morning, another lady graces the scene. Like clockwork Jane arrives at Trip’s apartment ready to do what she does best. Clean and hope Trip will finally notice her.
Jane enters and heads straight for the kitchen to wash the left over dishes and put on a pot of coffee.
Trip, still in his bedroom, lies still. His eyes blink open to freshly ground aroma of hazelnut coffee.
His nose twitches and his lanky frame stretches to the edge. Just like any other day he drags himself out of bed, throws on a pair of sweats, hits the bathroom, and then enters his office, sitting at his computer.
A moment later Jane sets a cup of coffee next to him and steps into the adjacent bedroom. “Thanks,” he grunts.
He takes a gulp and someone pounds on the front door.
“I’ll get it,” Jane calls out.
Trip continues to work.
She unlocks the door and Olivia barges in. “Get out of my way, maid.”
“You can’t disturb Mr. Coulter while he’s working.”
“I said, get out of my way!” She pushes Jane to the side.
Jane grabs her arm. “You mustn’t.”
“Back off you low-life servant.”
“That’s enough!” Trip growls as he races into the living room.
“How dare you raise your voice to me.”
“Olivia. Apologize to Jane.”
“Fat chance. I never apologize to anyone.” She turns toward Jane. “Especially not to cretans.”
“That’s it. Get out, Olivia. We’re through.”
He takes her by the arm and escorts her to the door. She digs her heels into the carpet, slaps his face, and heads out, slamming the door behind her.
Trip’s face carries a hint of red as he apologies to Jane.
Both hearts beat a little faster.
Both have secrets to be discovered…
Jane is no ordinary maid…
What will Trip do when he finds out?
Okay Elizabeth…you got me on this one. With this much intrigue and heat, I’d like to know more. Wouldn’t you guys?
What a way to start the week!
Thanks for dropping by everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful day off, catching up with all the A-Z posts… That’s what I did. At least I tried anyway.
Have a great MONDAY!
A mere twenty-four hours ago he quit his tech job. What’s a guy to do next?

Elizabeth's book - excellent choice! And Olivia had to go.
Great choice. Love the two lines right after the cover. Makes me want to read this.
Way to go, Elizabeth. What is better than one dangerous person? Two dangerous people.... BAM.
Ooh la la, steam and intrigue. Niiice.
I'm just starting the AtoZ catch-up game... Disney was amazing! Not a single drop of rain and sooo much magic. :) Are you back in Chicago now or still in the tropics?
Ooh, black ops... Love the cover! Congrats, to Elizabeth.
I totally GOT this one! That's two for me :)
How well you know Olivia! In the book, Trip asks her how she can treat people the way she does and Olivia says, "Jane isn't people. She's the cleaning lady." But you're right...Jane is far more than a cleaning lady!
Thank you Michael :) You are the best!!!
A love story with mystery!
Oh, boy--I am so hooked it isn't funny!!!
A Russian mafia princess wanted for murder? That alone would pull me in!
These two sound like hot characters. Loved the stilettos clicking out the Latin beat!
Sounds very interesting and the spy angle can hook me every time :)
A Russian mafia princess and a guy named Trip Coulter? Wow, sounds like a great combination...
Excellent choice! Romantic suspense is always a winner. Nicely done Elizabeth and Michael!
VR Barkowski
Sounds like a great story. Perfect lead in, Michael.
Russian Mafia...I'm in.

What an interesting premise- has me hooked.
Great premise, great intro. Another fine job. Maffia Princess? The Russian Mob usually doesn't treat its female family members well. Sigh.
Hi Michael .. well I certainly got hooked in .. Elizabeth it sounds a great read .. and another to add to my TBRead pile ..
Cheers to you both - Hilary
